Belfast International Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, has officially opened the first phase of its GBP 100 million (US$ 133 million), five-year investment plan. This initial phase features a newly extended terminal with a cutting-edge security hall equipped with Next Generation Security Equipment, a modern and immersive Duty-Free shopping area, and improved Arrivals facilities, including a redesigned external forecourt.

With additional investment planned over the next three years, Northern Ireland’s busiest airport is poised to achieve another record-breaking year, building on the momentum of 2024. The completed first phase of the GBP 25 million (US$ 33 million) investment includes a transformative 1,600 sqm Duty Free area that integrates retail, food and beverage, and travel essentials in a single space. For the first time, travelers will enjoy access to both internationally recognized brands and popular local favorites.

The newly constructed security hall has been designed with future growth in mind, allowing it to accommodate increasing passenger volumes. It is equipped with advanced Next Generation Security Equipment, eliminating the need for passengers to remove liquids or electronics from their hand luggage, streamlining the screening process. The spacious layout also creates a more comfortable and stress-free experience for travelers.
