Plenary has announced a new partnership between the Western Bulldogs and Kool Beanz, who will be the childcare center operators at the new Footscray Hospital.
Plenary Health, the consortium delivering the new hospital, will oversee the tenancy of the childcare centre as well as other facilities across the hospital precinct, including retail spaces, cafés, and medical clinics. The Bulldogs-themed centre, Kool Beanz’s first in Victoria, will cater to up to 90 children. Scheduled to open later this year on the building’s rooftop, the centre will feature dedicated spaces such as an art studio, library, Lego and STEM rooms. The outdoor area will include nature and water play zones, a vegetable garden, a Zen garden, an aviary, and a Western Bulldogs-inspired play field.
Plenary Health is leading the delivery of the AU$ 1.5 billion (US$ 964 million) New Footscray Hospital in collaboration with the Victorian Government and Western Health, with completion expected by the end of 2025. As one of the largest health infrastructure projects in Victoria’s history, the new hospital will include over 500 beds, increasing capacity to treat nearly 15,000 more patients and accommodate approximately 20,000 additional emergency department visits annually.
