Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Trillium Health Partners (THP), in partnership with the Ontario government, have awarded a fixed-price contract of CA$13.9 billion (US$10 billion) to ED+PCL Healthcare Partners to design, build, finance and maintain The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children.

Trillium Health Partners is Canada’s largest community-based hospital network. The redevelopment project—comprising the new Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children—will fully replace the existing hospital with a cutting-edge facility designed to address the evolving healthcare demands of the local population. Key features include:
A completely rebuilt and modernized hospital campus;
A significantly larger emergency department, poised to become one of the biggest in Ontario.
A versatile surgical platform with additional operating rooms equipped for advanced imaging and specialized procedures, adaptable to future innovations and patient care needs;
diagnostic imaging capabilities;
New pharmacy and clinical laboratory spaces; and
A newly constructed parking facility to support increased patient and staff capacity.
