The Ministry of Investment, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, announced the issuance of a Request for Qualification (RFQ) for experienced companies and consortia interested in participating in the Jaber Border Crossing Development Project.
The initiative aims to rehabilitate, finance, develop, operate and maintain the Jaber Border Crossing, a key gateway between Jordan and Syria. The project is intended to strengthen the crossing's role as a strategic regional trade corridor and integrated border logistics hub by improving operational efficiency, facilitating passenger and freight movement, and expanding capacity to meet expected growth in cross-border trade and transport. The project is part of Jordan's broader strategy to upgrade its logistics infrastructure, facilitate trade, and strengthen links with regional markets. It is also intended to boost the country's economic competitiveness and further establish Jordan as a regional hub for logistics and transportation.
Companies and consortia interested in participating can obtain the RFQ documents by emailing "JBC Project RFQ Documents" to JBC.PPP@moin.gov.jo, clearly identifying the applicant. Requests must include a copy of the company's registration certificate and proof of payment of the RFQ document fee. The Ministry of Investment has priced the RFQ package at JD1,000 (US$1,410), payable by bank deposit or transfer to the ministry's designated trust account at the Central Bank of Jordan. The ministry also announced that a general information session is scheduled for July 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (Jordan time). Details regarding the venue and final arrangements will be confirmed closer to the event.
The project will be delivered as a public-private partnership (PPP) using a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Maintain (DBFOM) model. Interested parties have until 3:30 p.m. (Jordan time) on August 3, 2026, to submit their RFQ applications.
