The Kansas City Chiefs, in collaboration with MANICA Architecture and HNTB, have released the initial concept renderings for a new enclosed 70,000-seat stadium to be developed in Kansas City, Kansas, as part of a wider mixed-use sports and entertainment district scheduled to open in 2031. 

The US$3 billion modern stadium will be fully enclosed with a translucent ETFE roof and is expected to have a total capacity of approximately 70,000. The team, along with MANICA, has worked to incorporate – and improve – many of the club's and fanbase's beloved traditions. Parking lot infrastructure will be built specifically to enhance the tailgating experience. The stadium's size, shape, and roof geometry have been studied by audio engineers to maximize crowd noise and help ensure that Chiefs fans can continue to provide an unrivaled homefield advantage. The stadium's seating bowl is reminiscent of Arrowhead Stadium; it will include a Drum Deck for pregame and in-game ceremonies, as well as the prominent placement of the Chiefs Ring of Honor above the bowl. The roof will also include more than 400,000 square feet of translucent panels directly above the playing surface, maximizing visibility for military flyovers.

Beyond the stadium, visitors will be able to explore a modern plaza featuring the Lamar Hunt statue, a significantly expanded Chiefs Hall of Honor with more than double its current exhibition space, and a new Chiefs Team Store that will be approximately four times larger than the existing retail outlet. The stadium will serve as the centerpiece of a mixed-use development incorporating retail, dining and entertainment amenities, further enhancing the overall game-day and year-round visitor experience.

The project will be delivered through a public-private partnership. The public contribution will be financed using Sales Tax and Revenue (STAR) bonds and the Attracting Professional Sports to Kansas Fund, both of which were created to support such developments without introducing new state taxes or adversely affecting the state budget. The remaining investment will come from private funding. In addition to the stadium, the initiative includes approximately $1 billion in further mixed-use development across the State of Kansas.
