Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) has closed its oversubscribed Lower Middle Market IV (LMM IV) fund at US$2.0 billion, exceeding its US$1.7 billion target, in Los Angeles, California, USA.

LLCP launched fundraising for LMM IV in December 2025, securing strong backing from its existing investors alongside a diverse group of new blue-chip institutional investors from around the world. The Fund’s investor base comprises sovereign wealth funds, public pension schemes, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, investment consultants and family offices.

The fundraising follows the successful close of LLCP’s oversubscribed Flagship Fund VII, which secured US$3.6 billion in total commitments in June 2025. The strong response to LMM IV reflects continued momentum across LLCP’s investment platform and investor confidence in its strategy and investment team. Over the past two years, the firm has raised a total of US$6.4 billion across its global platform.

LMM IV will follow LLCP’s Structured Private Equity strategy, targeting market-leading companies in the lower middle market and combining debt and equity financing to provide flexible, customized capital solutions for entrepreneurs and management teams. The fund will focus on sectors such as business services, franchising and multi-unit businesses, education and training, and engineered products and manufacturing. Its predecessor, LMM III, raised US$1.4 billion in total commitments when it closed in 2021. Lazard acted as the lead placement agent for LMM IV, while Kirkland & Ellis served as fund counsel.
