Several consortia have expressed interest in a highway concession in Brazil's Mato Grosso do Sul state, valued at approximately 10 billion reais (US$1.75 billion).
The 30-year concession spans 870 km, including the BR-262 and BR-267 highways, along with state roads MS-040, MS-338, and MS-395—collectively referred to as the pulp route. The project entails BRL 6.9 billion in capital expenditures and BRL 3.19 billion in operational costs. Initial interest has been shown by several players, including a consortium made up of Brazilian firm Way and investment company Kinea; XP Investimentos; BTG Pactual, Brazil’s largest investment bank; and K-Infra, a company owned by U.S.-based asset manager KKR.
