Nextalia Investment Management has secured a €1.1 billion first close for its second flagship private equity fund, Nextalia Private Equity Fund II, targeting investments in companies across Italy.

The fundraising was completed within five months of launching in February 2026 and attracted commitments from around 200 investors. Nextalia is targeting a final hard cap of €1.5 billion by the end of 2026. A notable feature of the fundraising is the strong support from existing investors. Nearly 90% of investors in Nextalia’s first private equity fund recommitted to the second fund, with several investors increasing their commitments. This indicates continued confidence in Nextalia’s investment strategy and its track record in the Italian private-equity market.

NPE II will continue Nextalia’s strategy of investing in Italian companies with strong growth potential, particularly businesses positioned within strategic supply chains. The fund is expected to focus on majority investments and work alongside management teams to accelerate international expansion, entry into new markets and the strengthening of management capabilities.

The new fund builds on the performance of Nextalia Private Equity Fund I, an €800 million vehicle that has already deployed more than 90% of its capital. Its portfolio companies have been developed into larger national businesses, while the first fund has also begun generating exits. This track record has helped Nextalia attract renewed commitments for NPE II. The €1.1 billion first close also strengthens Nextalia’s position as a major Italian mid-market private-capital investor. The firm’s assets under management have reportedly risen above €3.4 billion, while the new fund gives it significant additional capacity to invest in and support Italian businesses.
