Peru’s PROINVERSIÓN has advanced the tender process for the operation and maintenance of the Hospital de Apoyo II-2 de Sullana in Piura, attracting five international operators for the US$162 million public-private partnership project.

The project represents an estimated US$162 million investment aimed at improving hospital services for more than 650,000 people across Sullana, Tambogrande, Las Lomas, Talara, and Ayabaca. This phase is significant as it enables the refinement of contractual terms ahead of the award process, helping establish transparent guidelines, strong operational standards, and long-term sustainable delivery for the benefit of local communities.

The tender seeks to appoint a specialized operator responsible for the integrated management of the hospital’s infrastructure, equipment upkeep, and clinical support services, including laboratory, sterilization, diagnostic imaging, and hemodialysis operations, while the government will continue providing free healthcare services. Structured as a PPP, the project will ensure uninterrupted hospital operations, ongoing technology upgrades, and full maintenance of the healthcare facility over 17 years.
