PROINVERSIÓN Promoted the Construction of the Huarmey Hospital via Obras por Impuestos, Financed by Antamina in Áncash, Peru.

The project was transferred to the National Health Investment Program (PRONIS), the executing agency of the Ministry of Health, for operational management. After the handover, the hospital entered a commissioning and testing phase to facilitate the phased activation of its medical services. The modern facility replaces the former support hospital built in 1970, significantly improving access to quality healthcare and addressing a long-standing infrastructure deficit in the region. With an investment exceeding PEN 227 million (US$65 million), financed by Compañía Minera Antamina SA, the hospital boasts over 11,000 square meters of modern infrastructure, 25 specialized consulting rooms, 28 hospital beds, ambulances, and medical equipment, including 3D and 4D ultrasound machines, X-ray equipment, a laparoscopic tower, and anesthesia equipment, significantly strengthening the response capacity of the health system.

The establishment, classified as category II-1, will provide outpatient care, emergency services, hospitalization, surgical center, obstetric center, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, blood bank, laboratory and pharmacy services, bringing specialized services closer to the people that previously forced many families to travel to other cities to receive care.

Through its OxI 360 approach, PROINVERSIÓN has enhanced coordination between public and private stakeholders to accelerate project delivery. The opening of the Huarmey Hospital highlights the effectiveness of the Works for Taxes mechanism in expanding essential healthcare infrastructure in Áncash.
