Infrastructure Ontario of Canada has closed the request for proposals stage for teams to submit their bids to design, build and finance the GO Expansion - Lakeshore West Infrastructure Improvements project. Steelhead, EllisDon Infrastructure Transit, and West Link Partners were shortlisted for the RFP stage and all three teams have submitted their proposals.

The project involves the infrastructure upgrades, required to accommodate the planned expansion of GO Transit rail service on the Lakeshore West line. GO Transit is the regional public rail system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), in Southern Ontario. The selected bidder will be responsible for the improvements in the Exhibition, Mimico, Long Branch, Clarkson and Bronte stations as well as for the grade separation in Kerr Street and Burloak Drive, Drury Lane pedestrian bridge replacement and Lewis Road layover facility expansion.

The project aims to provide new travel choices for commuters, significantly increase transit ridership, cut journey times and help manage congestion across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
