Sacyr Agua SL has submitted the economic offer for the Desalination Plant project for the Coquimbo Region, Chile. The project involves an estimated investment of US$318 million and an operating period of 21 years from its provisional commissioning. The project is expected to be awarded during Q1 of 2026 to the bidder with the highest score based on the tender criteria presented in their proposal.
The project will be located in the Panul Cove and includes the design, construction, and operation of a seawater desalination plant with a total capacity of 1,200 liters per second (l/s), and an initial operation of 800 l/s, intended for human consumption and multipurpose purposes. The initiative includes the maritime works, the reverse osmosis plant, and a distribution pipeline 18.7 km long to the tanks with a total capacity of 8,000 m³.
The Consorcio Electro-Cointer submitted the sole bid for the public tender of the Ruta 160 Public Transport Corridor Concession, which involves an investment of US$171 million.
