Sacyr Concesiones Chile SPA submitted the best economic offer to Chile’s Ministry of Public Works for the second concession of Route 57 Santiago–Colina–Los Andes, covering infrastructure across Chile's Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions.

Sacyr Concesiones Chile SPA submitted the strongest bid, outperforming the other bidders, whose technical proposals were deemed acceptable: Vías Chile SA and the Consorcio Nueva Autopista Los Libertadores. The project entails the comprehensive modernization of the road corridor connecting Chile’s Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions. The route also serves as a key national and international transport link, particularly supporting freight and passenger traffic between Chile and Argentina.

The project extends across the Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions, encompassing the communes of Quilicura and Huechuraba, in the province of Santiago; Colina and Tiltil, in the province of Chacabuco; and Rinconada, Calle Larga and Los Andes, in the province of the same name. In total, the project considers approximately 110.4 km of road infrastructure, including the existing Route 57 (79.8 km), Route G-71 (16.7 km), a new 9.3-km route that will directly connect Route 57 with Route 5, and a new 4.6-km connection in the Los Andes Land Port area, intended to optimize the logistics operation of the area.

The Second Concession Route 57 Santiago-Colina-Los Andes includes the improvement, construction, maintenance and operation of both the existing infrastructure and the new works incorporated into the project. Key interventions include the expansion to three lanes along the first 24 km of Route 57, significantly improving service levels and road capacity. Additionally, cross-connectivity will be strengthened, particularly in the urban area of ​​the Metropolitan Region, through new interchanges, crossings, and service roads, as well as improvements to existing ones. The project also includes the construction of new bridges, bike paths, pedestrian walkways with associated bus stops, as well as a new tunnel parallel to the existing Chacabuco Tunnel and the modernization of existing infrastructure.

Under the current project schedule, construction of the new works is expected to commence in 2031, with full commissioning targeted for 2035. The existing concession is scheduled to expire on January 8, 2027.
