Capital Group and KKR have launched a new retail-focused investment vehicle called Capital Group KKR U.S. Equity+, designed to broaden access to private equity for individual investors. The fund blends investments in publicly traded US companies with exposure to private equity deals typically available only to institutional investors. It forms part of a broader collaboration between the two firms aimed at developing hybrid investment products that combine public and private market opportunities in a single portfolio.
The fund is structured as an interval fund and invests roughly 60% of its assets in actively managed large-cap US equities, leveraging Capital Group’s research-driven investment approach. The remaining 40% is allocated to private equity investments sourced by KKR, including co-investments and stakes in private equity funds managed by the firm. This structure allows retail investors to gain diversified exposure to both public and private markets through a single investment product.
The launch represents the first equity strategy developed under the exclusive partnership between Capital Group and KKR, which was established to expand access to private markets for a wider range of investors. Historically, private equity investments have been restricted to institutional investors due to high minimum investment requirements and regulatory limitations. By combining public equities with private assets in one vehicle, the firms aim to make these opportunities more accessible to individual investors.
