The Chilean Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has inaugurated the upgraded Nogales–Puchuncaví Route F-20, developed under a concession held by Sociedad Concesionaria Nuevo Camino Nogales-Puchuncaví S.A., in the Valparaíso Region of Chile.

The Relicitación Concesión Camino Nogales–Puchuncaví involves the improvement and expansion of Route F-20 in Chile’s Valparaíso Region, connecting the communes of Nogales and Puchuncaví with Route 5 Norte and the region’s coastal resorts. The concession, with an investment of more than US$200 million, includes capacity expansion, new road infrastructure and the 7-km Puchuncaví Bypass. The project includes dual carriageways, six interchanges, 12 grade-separated crossings and seven pedestrian footbridges, alongside enhanced road-safety infrastructure. It also provides 24/7 route monitoring through high-definition cameras, emergency stopping areas, SOS posts and rest areas. Additional facilities comprise a tourist viewpoint, 1.6 km of cycle paths, more than 2,400 metres of acoustic barriers and over 12 hectares of green areas.

The newly inaugurated works are designed to improve travel times between Route 5 Norte and coastal destinations including Maitencillo, La Laguna, Cachagua and Zapallar, with the journey reduced from around 15 minutes to approximately three minutes on the relevant connection. The concession also operates a Free Flow electronic tolling system, with two tolling gantries along Route F-20 and the Puchuncaví Bypass. The concession is held by Sociedad Concesionaria Nuevo Camino Nogales-Puchuncaví S.A., associated with Aleatica, and the concession has a maximum term of 38 years. The wider project comprises 27 km of Route F-20, the 7-km Puchuncaví Bypass and a planned 9-km Ventanas variant.
