Comcast has expanded its Xfinity and Comcast Business high-speed internet network to more than 3,300 homes and businesses through a public-private partnership with the State of Florida in Columbia County, Florida.
The expansion covers locations in and around Ellisville, Fort White, Mikesville, Springville, Suwannee Valley and Winfield. The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership with the State of Florida and is intended to extend reliable broadband connectivity to rural communities. Comcast is continuing construction in the county to expand its fiber-powered network to more than 2,000 additional locations, with completion expected by the end of 2026. The expanded network is expected to support residential and commercial connectivity, including education, remote work, business operations and other digital services, while improving broadband access and supporting economic development in the county.
