The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has re-invited bids for a planned multi-level parking facility at Raviwar Karanja in central Nashik, Maharashtra, India.
After receiving a weak response in the first round of tenders, the civic authority has issued a fresh call for bids and is optimistic that renewed interest from developers will enable the project to begin by early 2026. The proposed multi-level parking facility, with an estimated cost of around INR300 million (US$3.3 million), will be developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model. The selected agency will be awarded a 30-year concession period to DBFOT the facility before handing it back to the corporation.
Raviwar Karanja functions as a key market hub, adjacent to high-traffic areas like Main Road, MG Road, Shalimar, Kapad Market, and Saraf Bazaar, where heavy vehicular movement is common throughout the day. The current lack of adequate parking options frequently results in significant traffic issues on the narrow local roads. The new car park is planned for the site of the renowned Yashwant Mandai building, which was recently demolished after a structural audit deemed it unsafe.
