The Nashik Municipal Corporation has partnered with a private agency to develop a ₹150 crore (US$16 million) truck terminus at Adgaon in Nashik, Maharashtra, India.
Under the PPP framework, the private agency will execute the project on a design–build–operate–maintain (DBOM) basis for a 30-year concession period. In exchange, the Nashik Municipal Corporation will receive an annual royalty of ₹90 lakh (US$0.96 million) from the concessionaire, with the amount increasing by 5% each year throughout the concession term. The planned terminus will cover nearly 30 acres. The developer will create parking for about 300 trucks, along with various support facilities for drivers and transport workers, including accommodation, dormitories, bathing amenities, provision stores, and a medical room.
The project will also include a range of commercial and support infrastructure, such as storage and warehousing facilities for loading and unloading goods, with the goal of reducing congestion on city roads and entry points. Additional amenities will comprise a weighbridge, truck repair workshops, retail outlets, transport offices, showrooms, as well as motels and hotels. About 15% of the total land area will be allocated for landscaped green spaces.
