PROINVERSIÓN and the Provincial Municipality of Talara signed an agreement that will promote a US$180 million project to improve access to drinking water, sewage systems, and wastewater treatment in the province, benefiting more than 240,000 residents.
The project is currently in the planning stage, where technical studies are underway to identify the most effective solutions for improving services. This phase will help develop more efficient sewage systems, reducing the risk of wastewater leaking into and contaminating streets, beaches, and water sources—an issue that presently threatens both public health and the environment. The project will benefit the districts of Talara (Pariñas), El Alto, La Brea, Lobitos, Los Órganos, and Máncora, improving water quality, reducing disease, and strengthening conditions for urban and tourism development. It will also protect the natural environment in one of the most important areas of northern Peru.
This project follows the APP 5.0 approach, which enhances PROINVERSIÓN’s technical leadership across the entire investment process, promotes clearer governance among participating entities, and enables faster, more efficient progress—ensuring that the works are completed on schedule and deliver tangible benefits to the population.
