PROINVERSIÓN has signed a specialized supervision contract with the CESEL–FICHTNER Consortium to oversee the concession of the Puerto Maldonado Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR Puerto Maldonado) project in Madre de Dios, Peru.
The specialized supervisor will be responsible for verifying the concessionaire's compliance with its contractual obligations during the pre-operational phase. Its main functions include overseeing the preparation of engineering studies and the technical file, issuing opinions for approval by the grantor, and verifying that the execution of the works and commissioning comply with technical requirements and applicable regulations.
The Puerto Maldonado Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR) concession, awarded in December 2025 to the Puerto Maldonado Sanitation Consortium, encompasses the design, financing, construction, rehabilitation, expansion, operation, and maintenance of the city's sewerage and wastewater treatment system. The project includes the expansion and rehabilitation of 171 km of secondary networks, 25 km of primary collectors, seven pumping stations, the installation of up to 25,000 household connections, the construction of a modern treatment plant with an average capacity of 400 liters per second, and a comprehensive monitoring and control system. This infrastructure aims to reduce waterborne diseases, improve the quality of life of the population of Puerto Maldonado, and contribute to the environmental recovery of the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers through proper wastewater treatment and the expansion of sanitation services.
