Peru's PROINVERSIÓN has awarded FCC Aqualia S.A. the US$123 million Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract to design, finance, build, operate and maintain (DBFOM) the Cajamarca Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR) in Cajamarca, Peru.
Once completed, the project is expected to eliminate the discharge of untreated wastewater into the Mashcón, San Lucas and Cajamarquino rivers, addressing a decades-long environmental and public health challenge while improving the quality of life for more than 365,000 residents of Cajamarca. The project will be developed under a PPP model and includes the city's main wastewater collection system, as well as a modern plant with modern technology for the treatment and final disposal of an average flow of approximately 0.6 cubic meters per second, ensuring an efficient and sustainable service throughout the concession period.
With this award, PROINVERSIÓN reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainable investments that transform people's lives, fostering modern infrastructure that improves the quality of public services, protects the environment, and contributes to the country's economic and social development.
