The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN), together with the Regional Government of Lambayeque, announced the start of the promotional process for the new concession of the Olmos Project water transfer works.

This project will be promoted under the Co-financed Private Initiative (IPC) model, with the goal of ensuring the continuity, sustainability, and full capacity of the trans-Andean water transfer system for the next 50 years. The new concession includes studies, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance of this strategic infrastructure, which will provide water security for 25,000 new hectares and 5,500 hectares of the existing Olmos Valley. The new concession envisions a reference investment of USD 400 million and includes the preparation of pre-investment studies, raising the Limón Dam from 43 to 85 meters, works to reduce sediment inflow, channeling and riverbank protection works, the adaptation of the inclined tunnel for its connection with the Trans-Andean Tunnel, the relocation of approximately eight kilometers of the Norperuvian Pipeline, and the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the transfer works at full capacity.

 PROINVERSIÓN seeks to complete the infrastructure planned for the first stage of the Olmos Project with this new concession, ensuring the continuity of a strategic infrastructure that will strengthen water security, boost new investments, and consolidate the agro-export and economic growth of Lambayeque.
