PROINVERSIÓN, Peru's private investment promotion agency, has launched a public-private partnership (PPP) initiative with the Interior Ministry to modernize and operate the Hospital Nacional PNP Luis N. Sáenz in Lima, the country's principal police hospital.

The initiative will benefit more than 700,000 active and retired police officers and their dependents, who receive care at the Luis N. Sáenz National Police Hospital, a Level III-1 facility with over 48,000 square meters of infrastructure, six floors, four basements, a helipad, intensive care units, five operating rooms, and highly complex medical equipment. The project includes the operation and maintenance of the general services (both general and non-standard), including hospital infrastructure maintenance, equipment replacement and maintenance, food services, cleaning, biosafety, sterilization, waste management, and other essential support services to ensure the hospital's continuous operation. Medical care will remain the responsibility of the State and will continue to be free of charge for users.

The official launch marks the start of the project's promotion phase, during which PROINVERSIÓN will carry out the activities required to develop a competitive, well-structured Public-Private Partnership (PPP) aligned with international standards to support the hospital's long-term sustainability. Through this initiative, PROINVERSIÓN is strengthening its role as Peru's lead agency for strategic investment projects by advancing PPPs that address gaps in healthcare infrastructure and services while promoting efficiency, transparency, and better public service delivery.
