The Peruvian agency PROINVERSIÓN has officially approved the construction height for the new specialized hospital in Chimbote (Nuevo Chimbote district), Peru.
With this approval, the project can advance to the final stage of the technical file, a necessary step before construction begins. The authorization reflects coordinated efforts among the relevant institutions, ensuring that the hospital’s design remains fully compatible with operations at Nuevo Chimbote Airport, without compromising air safety or altering the planned infrastructure. Implemented through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) under PROINVERSIÓN, the hospital will expand healthcare capacity in the region, providing modern facilities and high-complexity services to insured residents. Once completed, the project will serve over 440,000 insured individuals in Áncash.
The concessionaire will be responsible for the design, construction, and equipping of the hospital, while EsSalud will oversee its implementation and finance a portion of the project, ensuring its sustainability and quality. The future hospital will have 161 inpatient beds, 12 ICU beds, 7 operating rooms, 37 consulting rooms, and 2 delivery rooms, as well as fully equipped services to cover 26 medical specialties. In addition, a Polyclinic of Increasing Complexity and temporary contingency infrastructure will be built to ensure uninterrupted care during construction.
