PROINVERSIÓN has awarded a 17-year public-private partnership contract to Proyectos de Infraestructura Sucursal del Perú for the operation, maintenance and modernization of the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño de San Borja in Lima.
With an estimated investment of US$317 million and a 17-year contract, the project will ensure the continuous operation, maintenance, and technological modernization of one of Latin America's most important pediatric hospitals. The concession includes "gray coat" and "green coat" services, encompassing infrastructure and equipment maintenance, food services, laundry, cleaning, security, sterilization, and clinical pathology, ensuring that the institute operates to high standards of quality and with up-to-date technology.
The National Institute of Child Health in San Borja serves as a leading referral center in Peru and Latin America for highly specialized pediatric treatments, including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, organ transplants, neonatal care, and burn management. The hospital is equipped with 241 inpatient beds, 59 intensive care unit beds, and six neonatal ICU beds, treating complex cases referred from across the country.
Through this contract award, the Peruvian government reinforces a Public-Private Partnership model that has delivered improvements in pediatric healthcare services and helped lower infant mortality rates, while ensuring that medical care remains free of charge as provided by the Ministry of Health.
