The Urban Development & Urban Housing Construction Department, Government of Jharkhand, through the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), is developing a 120 TPD solid waste processing plant in Murramkala, Ramgarh, Jharkhand, in collaboration with the Ramgarh Municipal Council and Ramgarh Cantonment Board.

The Ramgarh Solid Waste Processing Plant is a proposed municipal solid-waste treatment facility at the Murramkala trenching ground in Ramgarh, Jharkhand. The plant is intended to provide scientific processing and management of waste generated by the Ramgarh Municipal Council and Ramgarh Cantonment Board. The two civic bodies currently generate around 100 tonnes of municipal waste per day, while the proposed facility is planned with a processing capacity of 120 tonnes per day. 

The project has now moved toward the site-preparation stage. During an inspection of the Murramkala site, Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Rituraj directed officials, the concessionaire and civic-body representatives to accelerate the removal of accumulated legacy waste from the portion of land earmarked for the plant. The administration has set a target of clearing the identified area within 72 hours, allowing preliminary construction activities to begin. 

Once the site is cleared, the immediate works are expected to include boundary-wall construction and other preliminary activities. The administration is also planning drone videography of the trenching ground to establish a record of the site's existing condition before the waste is shifted and construction progresses. Fresh waste and legacy waste are to be relocated in an organised and scientific manner. The proposed facility is intended to address the existing challenge of waste accumulation at Murramkala and improve waste management across Ramgarh's municipal and cantonment areas. Earlier in September, the district administration had directed agencies to clear the accumulated waste from the site within 30 days, indicating that site clearance is a key prerequisite for advancing the processing-plant project.
