The Government of São Paulo has formalized the signing of the Term of Use Permit with Empresa Metropolitana de Águas e Energia S.A. (EMAE) for the new management of Bruno Covas Linear Park – Novo Rio Pinheiros, in the capital of São Paulo.

The agreement initiates the contractual phase of the project led by the Secretariat for Investment Partnerships (SPI) in collaboration with the Secretariat for Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (Semil). Under the 48-month agreement, EMAE will oversee the park's operations, maintenance, conservation, and activity management across an approximately 8.2-kilometer stretch on the western bank of the Pinheiros River, between the Cidade Jardim Bridge and the Pomar Urbano headquarters. The park will remain publicly accessible and free to visitors while benefiting from enhanced services and continued development as a hub for recreation, sports, culture, social interaction, and urban-environmental integration.

The planned upgrades include enhanced conservation, maintenance, and security measures, improved management of activities held within the park, and expanded visitor amenities, including additional recreational, social, and dining options, while adhering to the park's environmental and urban planning standards. To strengthen safety and surveillance, Bruno Covas Park will be equipped with strategically placed cameras connected to the Muralha Paulista Program for real-time monitoring by public security authorities. The initiative also includes the development of an asset protection plan and the implementation of preventive security patrols.
