Turner & Townsend, a global professional services firm majority-owned by CBRE, has been appointed to lead a four-year managed service commission for Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) and the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), delivering integrated project controls, cost and commercial management, performance monitoring, and assurance to enhance delivery efficiency and mitigate risks during construction. NZT Power is set to become the world’s first gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage, capable of generating up to 742MW of low-carbon electricity—enough to power over one million UK homes annually—while capturing up to 2 million tonnes of CO₂ per year for secure subsea storage beneath the North Sea via infrastructure developed by NEP. Part of the broader East Coast Cluster decarbonisation initiative, the project aims to model industrial net-zero solutions across the UK, reinforcing Turner & Townsend’s expertise in complex energy infrastructure and supporting the nation’s transition to a low-carbon future, as highlighted by Alan Sinclair, the firm’s UK Managing Director for Energy and Natural Resources.
