The Crescent Purchasing Consortium has initiated a major tender for a UK-wide construction framework valued at up to £11.4 billion (US$15.1 billion), including VAT, as announced on October 2, 2025. This procurement, detailed on Construction News, is designed to facilitate a diverse range of capital works contracts across five UK regions: North England, Midlands, South England, Scotland, and Wales. The framework is divided into 45 lots, each utilizing industry-standard contract forms such as JCT Minor Works, JCT Design and Build, NEC4 Engineering and Construction, and demolition-specific contracts from the National Federation of Demolition Contractors. Scheduled to commence in May 2026 and run until April 2028, the framework includes the option for three two-year extensions, potentially extending its duration to eight years. The estimated expenditure through the framework is £9.5 billion (excluding VAT), with each lot valued at approximately £211.1 million (excluding VAT), though these figures may vary based on market conditions and uptake by Crescent’s members, primarily in the education sector and affiliated public bodies. The framework will support various construction activities, including refurbishment, demolition, new builds, and civil engineering projects. Tender submissions are due by October 30, 2025, offering suppliers an opportunity to participate in this significant public-sector construction initiative.
