United Living Group has acquired a majority stake in Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions, a specialist in power distribution, to enhance its capabilities in the UK's power sector.
This marks United Living’s second major move to strengthen its position in the power infrastructure sector, following its acquisition of Jones, a prominent power distribution and street lighting contractor, in March 2025. Combined, these acquisitions substantially broaden United Living’s service offerings, extend its geographic coverage, and expand its customer base across the UK power market.
Glenelly is instrumental in advancing the UK’s shift to a low-carbon economy by partnering with distribution network operators (DNOs) to support key technologies like electric vehicle (EV) charging and heat pump installations. The company also tackles industry-wide skills shortages through its two specialist training centres—one of which is uniquely accredited by UK Power Networks (UKPN) and trains both GIS and UKPN personnel. This focus on skills development aligns with United Living’s investment in its training academy, GTEC, highlighting their shared dedication to building a skilled workforce and maintaining high operational standards.
