Work began on PY07 (Superhighway Junction) – Puerto Indio project in Alto Paraná

The Ministry of Public Works said that the construction and maintenance of route PY21, section PY07 (Superhighway Junction) – Puerto Indio, is underway with track work in Alto Paraná, Paraguay. 

In its entirety, a stretch of 60.36 km is slated for paving to enhance connectivity in the district of Mbaracayú and its surrounding areas. The work is divided into two lots:

  • Lot 1, spanning from 0 km to 27 km, is entrusted to Benito Roggio e Hijos SA, under the supervision of the Grimaux - Electroconsult Consortium.
  • Lot 2 covers the segment from 27 km to 60.3 km and is under the responsibility of Company LT SA, supervised by the TYPSA - AII Consortium.

The planned tasks encompass polymer asphalt paving, along with additional undertakings such as constructing a passenger boarding and alighting dock, a weighing dock, a toll station, the installation of vehicle containment barriers, the relocation of columns, and the construction and transfer of fences, among other activities. Additionally, within the framework of the Environmental and Social Management Plan, the construction of a viewpoint near Laguna de los Patos is envisaged.
