The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), through the Concessionaire, will begin studies and designs in September 2025 to address the critical areas of the Eastern Cundinamarca Perimeter Project.

As part of efforts to monitor and assess the condition of the corridor, a technical inspection was carried out in coordination with the Bogotá Eastern Perimetral Concessionaire S.A.S. and the Supervision Office, resulting in the identification of 92 critical points along the route. Of these, 61 are located in Functional Unit 4 and 31 in Functional Unit 5. Due to the suspension of property management activities in both units since August 2018, following a Liability Exemption Event signed between the Agency and the Concessionaire, a process to conclude property-related procedures has now been initiated in response to multiple community petitions.

On December 19, 2024, the International Tribunal issued its Final Partial Award in the case brought by Concesionaria Perimetral Oriental de Bogotá S.A.S. against the ANI in 2020. As a result, the Concession Contract formally entered its Reversion Phase on December 20, 2024, from which point the concessionaire remains contractually responsible for operating the corridor until it is officially handed over to the relevant authorities. Currently, coordination is underway with the Governor’s Office of Cundinamarca, the Municipality of La Calera, and INVIAS to manage the infrastructure’s transition and return process.
