Simpar Group company CS Infra will assume the US$99 million concession for a road bridge connecting São Borja in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state and Santo Tomé in Argentina's Corrientes province.
CS Infra was awarded the contract after Argentine company Plusbyte was disqualified for failing to meet the minimum technical and financial qualification requirements. During the July auction, Plusbyte had proposed a US$29 million fee for the concession, surpassing CS Infra’s US$26.6 million bid. The concession encompasses 15.6 km of roadway, including a 1.4 km bridge and its access roads. In operation since 1997, the bridge is the only binational bridge under concession, facilitating 23% of trade between Brazil and Argentina and 40% of trade between Brazil and Chile.
