Globalvia to acquire stake in two Chilean highway PPPs

Globalvia has signed an agreement with Brookfield Americas Infrastructure Fund to acquire a 34% stake in the concessions of Autopista Vespucio Norte and Túnel de San Cristóbal in Chile. The transaction is valued at EUR340 million (US$401.83 million) and is subject to approval from the funders of the concessionaire.

Autopista Vespucio Norte is a 29 kilometers long bypass road connecting communes of Huechuraba, Recoleta, Conchalí, Quilicura, Renca, Cerro Navia, Pudahuel and Maipú in Santiago capital region. The concession period is 35 years which started in 2002. Tunel de San Cristobal is part of Variante Vespucio-El Salto-Kennedy road which is 4 kilometers long and includes two parallel tunnels of 1.8 kilometers and two lanes each. The project became operational in 2005 with a concession period of 35 years.

Banco Santander, E&Y, VTM, Typsa and AON acted as financial advisers while Munita & Olivarría and Barros & Errázuriz acted as legal advisers for Globalvia.
