Chile’s Ministry of Public Works (MOP), led by Minister Louis de Grange, is overseeing the construction of the new Hospital of Pichilemu in collaboration with regional authorities, including the government delegate, mayor and representatives of the Public Works, Health and Transport ministries, in Pichilemu, O’Higgins Region.

The new facility, which will represent an investment of US$30.1 million, will have an approximate area of ​​12,300 m², highlighting among its main facilities: 27 beds, 8 rooms for elective major surgery and outpatient major surgery, 33 medical and non-medical consultation rooms for health professionals, emergency care service, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic support services, administrative and industrial services, and an Emergency Unit. Regarding the layout of the spaces, the project includes three levels. The ground floor will house the domestic hot water, medical gas, and heating systems, as well as the auditorium, nursery, administrative offices, and spaces designated for unions.

Meanwhile, the first floor will house the SAMU (Emergency Medical Service), the integrative medicine unit, pharmacy, morgue, laundry, cafeteria, and staff dining area. The second floor will contain the emergency department, laboratory, imaging services, hospitalization wards, patient transport, sterilization and care center, as well as the centralized control system.

The works, which began in November 2025, are in addition to the construction of the new Rengo Hospital and are part of the “O’Higgins Network Hospitals” concession contract.
