PROINVERSIÓN plans to award the operation and maintenance contract for the Lima Convention Centre (LCC) to a private operator in the first half of September 2026, in Lima, Peru.
PROINVERSIÓN, under Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), announced that the Operation and Maintenance of the LCC is expected to be awarded during the first half of September 2026 through a PPP. Currently in the transaction stage, the project will be implemented under a 15-year contract. The concession is expected to bring in specialised expertise and operational capabilities to manage and enhance one of Peru’s key public facilities for hosting congresses, conventions and major events.
Three prequalified bidders—GL EVENTS VENUES, Consorcio Centro de Convenciones–Exposistemas, and GRUPO HEROICA SAS—will compete for the contract. All three successfully met the technical, legal and financial requirements set out under the procurement process and were subsequently admitted to the bidding stage. Valued at approximately US$105 million, the project covers the operation, management, conservation and comprehensive maintenance of the LCC. The selected operator will also oversee the management and administration of the facility, develop its annual events programme, and organise and promote events that are compatible with the centre’s infrastructure.
The CCL, located in San Borja, is a strategic infrastructure for the economic, cultural, and tourism development of Lima. It features 18 multifunctional convention halls, a column-free plenary hall of approximately 5,000 m², 374 parking spaces, three kitchens and a cafeteria, and a capacity of nearly 10,000 people.
Under specialised private management, the Convention Center is expected to enhance its ability to attract congresses, conventions, trade fairs, corporate meetings and international events. This would help stimulate related economic activities, including hospitality, restaurants, transport, retail and other services. The project is closely aligned with the MICE tourism segment—meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions—which has been identified as one of its key strengths and growth opportunities.
