The Asociación Fondo Social Terminal Portuario Multipropósito de Salaverry, with support from PROINVERSIÓN, has commenced construction of the PEN5.24 million (US$1.5 million) Estrellitas de Amor y Mar Preschool project in the district of Salaverry, La Libertad, Peru.
The project is expected to provide modern educational facilities for 125 preschool children while also improving conditions for teachers, administrative personnel, parents, and the wider school community. It is being fully financed by the Salaverry Multipurpose Port Terminal Social Fund Association as part of its efforts to enhance education, support early childhood development, and promote sustainable development in the district. Preschool No. 1630 "Estrellitas de Amor y Mar," which has served the Salaverry community for more than five decades, will undergo a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade to replace aging facilities and accommodate growing student enrollment with safe, modern, and appropriate learning spaces.
Scheduled for completion within 180 calendar days, the project will deliver a modern, accessible, and functional preschool facility. The ground floor will feature six classrooms, a psychomotor room, first-aid and psychology rooms, a kitchen, dining area, educational gardens, student restrooms, and accessible sanitary facilities. The upper floor will accommodate administrative and staff facilities, including the principal's office, administrative office, teachers' lounge, multipurpose room, and restrooms. In addition, the development will include playgrounds, recreational areas, covered outdoor spaces, and perimeter fencing to enhance student safety and provide a better environment for learning and school activities.
