Sandwell Council has announced the completion of eight new family homes on a previously vacant brownfield site at St Vincent Crescent in West Bromwich.
Constructed by Seddon Construction Ltd on behalf of the council and funded with support from Homes England, the development includes two-, three-, and four-bedroom council homes designed to meet modern sustainability standards. The site, formerly occupied by a small parade of shops demolished a decade ago, has been transformed into energy-efficient homes featuring photovoltaic (PV) panels and electric vehicle (EV) charging points. These features aim to reduce residents' energy costs and support Sandwell Council's carbon-neutral ambitions. The homes also comply with the latest building regulations, including Part L and Part O, aligning with the Future Homes Standard.
Additionally, the project includes planned improvements to local infrastructure, such as extending and enhancing a footpath and an existing car park area for a nearby nursery, further benefiting the community.
