Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) has completed the acquisition of Motiva Infraestrutura de Mobilidade’s entire equity interest in Companhia de Participações em Concessões (CPC), gaining control of a portfolio of 20 airports across Brazil, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Curaçao. The transaction closed on September 1, 2026, after all conditions precedent under the November 2025 agreement were satisfied. 

The acquisition was completed for R$5.1 billion (US$992 million), following customary closing adjustments. Motiva reported that the final transaction value was R$12.21 billion, comprising R$5.187 billion in equity proceeds and R$7.024 billion in net debt associated with the transferred airport assets. 

The portfolio comprises 17 airports in Brazil, including Confins International Airport, Pampulha Airport and the Bloco Sul and Bloco Central airport concessions, as well as Quito International Airport in Ecuador, Juan Santamaría International Airport in Costa Rica and Curaçao International Airport. The deal significantly expands ASUR’s international footprint and gives it entry into Brazil, Latin America’s largest aviation market by passenger traffic. The acquired portfolio is expected to add around 45–48 million annual passengers to ASUR’s network, strengthening its position across Latin America and the Caribbean. 

For Motiva, the sale represents a strategic exit from the airport sector. The company intends to simplify its portfolio and strengthen its financial capacity for investment in roads and rail/mobility infrastructure in Brazil.
